Life Chance Trust is a specialist youth charity based in South Devon working to transform the life chances of 16-25 year-olds who have experienced with childhood trauma or have complex life histories.

Our Vision (A world where…)
Young people overcome the effects of traumatic childhood experiences to become happy, healthy, safe and independent adults.

Our Mission
To transform the life chances of 16-25 year olds, by building their confidence, resilience, motivation, skills and networks to find employment and realise their potential.

Our Values
Care – Nurture – Inspire

Are you compassionate, highly motivated, and determined? Could you dedicate yourself to enabling vulnerable and under-served young people to overcome traumatic childhood
experiences, navigate complex life histories and become the best they can be?

The LCT’s mentoring programme is a 12-week programme that supports young people in a face to face 1-2-1 setting in the community. You’ll build relationships with young people 1-2-1 as their mentor, meeting them once a week. You will support them to gain confidence and resilience and navigate their way through challenges and help them to set goals and outline a personal development plan. You will be responsible for a caseload of young people averaging 5 young people at one time. You will liaise with key colleagues and partners, working collaboratively to ensure every young person we support feels heard, knows that they matter, and can aspire to a positive, happy and healthy future where they achieve their full potential. You’ll also support delivery of our Life Skills Workshops by delivering a range of creative, appealing, rewarding and engaging activities under the set topics of Life Skills. Life Chance Trust is a newly established charity and this role offers a rare chance to use your relational skills and talents and your experience and ideas, to shape our activities and see both young people, and the organisation grow.
